A week with black grouse and capercaillie from professional hides in snowy Norway forest.
Always ready to offer you news about photo tours, we propose a new spring trip to the Norwegian forests in the middle of the breeding and nesting season of birds in the middle of the Nordic landscape, still completely snowed. We go to the Deset region, north of Oslo, wild place where we will spend a week enjoying grouses, cappercailies and northern birds. All with our local guide and hide manager.
Once the trip is contracted, the meeting point with Joan Padró, responsible for Photo Logistics will be at the Gardermoer airport, in Oslo. You will be continuously accompanied by him. A local guide will pick us up and take us to our accommodation. There, we start six intense days of photography from hides focusing on capercaillie and black grouse, landscapes, northern lights and other northern European wildlife.
In order to make the most of our possibilities, fights, wedding dances and activity, we will do afternoon and early morning sessions, staying overnight inside the hide (perfectly equipped). The daily program will be:
10:00 breakfast
11:00-13:00 birdwatching, landscape and bird photography near the lodge.
14:00 lunch
18:00 we will go to the hides.
09:00 return from the hides.
Hides:
At the evening we will move to the woods, where the hides (individual) will be installed. We will do 3 sessions of black grouses and 3 sessions of cappercailies during the week, spending the night inside the hides all the days. The hides have mattresses and the sleeping bags can be rented. You will need to bring a potty to pee. The entrance and exit of the hide will be guided by local guide and the trekking between the car and the hide will take about 15 minutes walk. It will be necessary to wear good footwear, warm and suitable for walking in the snow. The distance between us and the birds will be variable, although it is recommended to take a focal length between 400mm and 800mm. The hides are designed to photograph the above species in perfect conditions of scenery, light and interaction.

Other species that can be sighted: willow tit, hazel grouse, bullfinch, pine grosbeak, redpoll, squirel, waxwing, whooper swan, bean goose, great grey owl, northern hawk owl, black woodpecker, etc.
