Estonia Winter Trip

Raptor and forest birds on the snow photography break from hide in Otepää (Estonia). Photography of birds of prey, passerines, woodpeckers and more in Estonia on the snow, in a heated hide and with all the comforts, without complicated displacements, absolutely for all the public.

The starting point of the trip is Barcelona airport, from where we will be continuously accompanied by a Photo Logistics guide. Alternatively, you can leave from any other airport and meet your Photo Logistics guide at Tallinn airport (just coordinate flight times).

Upon arrival in Tallinn we will be picked up at the airport and head directly to Otepää, about 2.5 hours southwest. Snow everywhere. Here we will check into the hotel in single rooms and have dinner. Two days of hide are proposed and this needs explanation.

In Estonia we work with Phil Gould, who has developed a complex of hides interconnected by rooms all built in local wood, with everything you can imagine:

– heating, of course. The outside temperature requires it.

– work tables to set up the headtripod (don’t bring it, there are a few in the hide), eat, and whatever else you need.

– dry toilet with all the comforts.

– a room with a big screen where we can do briefings, view and comment on the photographs you have taken, etc.

But, the most important thing is that without leaving the complex you will be able to be in different scenarios throughout the day and have your own space isolated from the rest of the photographers or not. With this we will be able to spend whole days in the hide, with food included, which we assure you will feel short.

We will have the hide complex exclusively for our small group.

We will be able to photograph:

– Woodpeckers: Great Spotted Woodpecker and Grey-headed Woodpecker.

– Passerines: Yellowhammer, Greenfinch, Tree Sparrow, Blue Tit, Bullfinch, Nuthatch, Hooded Crow, etc.

– Birds of prey: Goshawk and Buzzard. There are good options for White tailed eagle, but they are not as secure.

– Other possibilities: Fox, Raccoon Dog.

ITINERARY

– 1st day, arrival at Tallinn airport and transfer to Otepää.

– 2nd and 3rd day: breakfast at 6:00 at the hotel and transfer to the hide complex. Lunch at the hide. Photo commentary during the day in the hide. Dinner in Otepää.

– Return flight on the 4th day in the morning.
