Miracle Forest Hide
Solsona, Spain
The comfortable Bearded Vulture hide located in the mountains of Lleida, giving excellent opportunities for landing and flight shots and set up for great backgrounds.
This hide allows you to explore one of the highlights of wildlife photography in the Prepyrenees, the Lammergeier. Located near the small city of Solsona this hide between mountains, wildlife and calm will give you the best photo opportunities.
The regular visitors of the feeding station are Griffon Vulture (many of them), Raven, of course Bearded Vulture and, depending on the session, you can also have Egyptian vultures (from March to September), Red fox and Red kite, among other birds. There is always some surprise in a feeding station in the mountains.
These two hides have room enough for six people (3 each) and their large window gives great opportunities to take photos of both, birds on the ground and in flight. The hides have both a chemical toilet in an annexed room inside. The hide has a table with gimbal attachments, so you don’t need to bring your tripod with you, just the head tripod.
We feed the raptors with carrion making sure the site is kept clean of any excess detritus that might interfere with creating good natural looking images. As with all our hides we frequently refresh perches too. In the feeding station there is also a drinking pond that is used on a regular basis by the Griffons and other birds for bathing and drinking after having eaten. That gives you an opportunity for a less seen photo.
After meeting our guide, you will be driven to the hide in the morning. Exiting the hide is always made with our guide assitance in order to avoid disturbing the wildlife. The session takes until the afternoon, when the guide pick you up to drive you to the meeting place again.
Type of service: two hides with three seat per hide. Both with one way glass.
