Trip to Panama

A photographic trip to discover the jungle of Central America. From the colourfull birds to the tiny frogs in incredible colors.

If last year the trip to Panama was impressive in terms of habitats and species, this year we have improved it. Now, thanks to the agreement reached with Tamandúa, a reference company in Panamá, we can offer special services in the lands they manage. And exclusive services such as the assistance of a biologist specializing in herpetology to hold a macro photography workshop.

Tamandúa’s services, which we offer exclusively, go beyond birding with a camera hoping that the bird is in the distance and with the right background. We are talking about services designed by wildlife photographers, distance and light will always be ideal and we are mostly talking about hide services. They are generally hides without crystal, but where you will have great freedom of movement.

Tamadúa owns a beautiful estate in Chiriquí, Tierra Altas de Panamá where they have installed hummingbird feeders, a hide that attracts insectivorous from the forest, another with a pond and where it is also possible to photograph mammals at night (cacomitzle, taira and olingo) with a lighting system provided by us, although you can take a support flash. In that area it is also possible to photograph Resplendent Quetzal, a bird to which we will dedicate special attention. This same management is also being carried out in the newly incorporated farm in the Bocas del Toro area where you can photograph birds that we have associated with the tropics such as toucans, parrots  American Orioles, etc.

What itinerary will we do?

Day 1 (May 3): Arrival in Panama City.
Arrival at Tocumén International Airport. Transfer and accommodation at the Summit Rainforest Resort hotel.

Day 2 (May 4): Lago Gatún and Rainforest Discovery Center.
Early morning departure for a private boat ride through the Panamá Canal to Lake Gatún, looking for monkeys such as the White-faced Capuchin, Howler Monkey and Geoffery’s Tamarind. You can also photograph various species of waterfowl.
